17.03.06 BOARDS OF CANADA: NEW EP, TRANS CANADA HIGHWAY + VIDEO

We are excited to announce the release of Trans Canada Highway, the new EP from Boards of Canada.

Trans Canada Highway features four new tracks and an Odd Nosdam remix of Dayvan Cowboy, along with the original version taken from their previous record, The Campfire Headphase.

A short for Dayvan Cowboy has also been completed. It will be BoC?s first official music video.

Vasarely Festival/Territoires Electroniques'06 : 1st-4th June

The TE06 Festival will take place once more at the Vasarely Foundation, Aix en Provence on the first weekend in June.
This year the festival will also make use of an icredible new venue for the main event on Saturday 3rd June (more info below). Film screenings and free concerts take place at the Foundation on Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th June, with installations by Japanese architects Shigeru Ban filling the internal spaces as part of Aix en Provence's 'Cezanne 2006' celebrations and the centennary of Victor Vasarely.

Apart from the Vasarely Foundation, the new venue for this year is the Village Des Automates ("Village of Automatons"), a theme park on the edge of Aix en Provence built in the 1970's and populated with mechanical models and statues of animals, dinosaurs and characters from children's stories. At first funny and childish, the place gradually reveals an atmosphere of unsettling melancholy as the characters stare sadly at you while endlessly repeating the same cycle of creaky movements year after year after year...

Amazingly, right in the middle of the park is a 1,200 capacity hexagonal concert hall perfect for raves! This is the first time that the park has been used for a music event and will be unmissable (it is of course fully authorised and licenced) Full bars, restaurants will be onsite, and transport from Aix city centre/The Foundation will be provided.
